Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Here is the trailer for the new movie written by Jason Segel and Judd Apatow. I am really hoping it is as good as the two mega-hits from this summer; Knocked Up and Superbad!

The cast features Jason Segel, Jonah Hill and Paul Rudd - which in my book is an unbeatable combo. Then add Mila Kunis and Kristen Bell for a touch of hotness...you can't go wrong.

Hopefully...

Merry Christmas!

Best albums of 2007

Today I get to gome home.

Today at 5pm I get to go home and spend Christmas vacation with my family for a few days, and then come back to Austin, TX and spend the rest of my time off with friends both old and new. I can't wait!

I don't really take a lot of vacation, but when I do I like to go all out and have as much fun as possible to make it worth using my vacation time. This year is different, though, because I am not using any vacation time and I have off from the 22nd through January 2nd. How is that possible? No idea...but I will take it.

I haven't packed yet, but really the only thing on my mind is the music for the countless hours I will be in a car over the next week and a half.

I am always getting new music (new doesn't mean new, it just means that it wasn't on my ipod before), but I usually put music on it in bulk...so for long periods of time I don't have any updated music ready to go.

With that said I thought I would give a few of my favorite albums of 2007, just incase anyone needs a little help with their music for a holiday drive/flight/zoning their family out.

Best albums of 2007 (In no particular order)

-Kings of Leon - Because of the Times
-Kanye West - Graduation
-Jimmy Eat World - Chase This Light
-Foo Fighters - Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace
-Modest Mouse - We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank
-Radiohead - In Rainbows
-Arcade Fire - Neon Bible
-Chris Brown - Exclusive
-Peter, Bjorn and John - Writer's Block
-Amy Winehouse - Back to Black
-Rilo Kiley - Under the Blacklight

Best albums of 2007 from a new artist

-Paramore - Riot! (go pick this one up, it is great)
-MIA - Kala (probably the best album overall)
-Backdoor Slam - Rollaway (you probably haven't heard of him unitl now)

Most anticipated album of 2008

-Jack's Mannequin - Back and Forth from the Edge

There are 15 albums that I think everyone should have from 2007. I know I didn't add any Saves the Day or Springsteen, but they just didn't make the cut. Sorry.

If anyone is searching for last minute Christmas gifts, I strongly suggest these albums. Let me know what you think. Here's to another great year in music!

Cheers!

Busted.

No one likes getting caught doing something they weren't supposed to be doing. I remember hearing a story about one of my friends getting caught sleeping with his girlfriend by the police one night (they were parked in his car in a park), and then had to go down to the police station and each call their respective parent to come down and pick them up. Talk about crappy.

I found a few videos that I figured a few of you would enjoy. Plus, it is the last few days of work before Christmas vacation and I know you could use some excitement. The theme of these videos: getting busted!

The first video is for all of you pervs out there...How many times have you gone on YouTube or some other web-cam website to watch girls dance/strip in front of the camera? Well, this is what happens to girls who are naughty (I didn't think daddy would like this)

*VIDEO REMOVED*

The second video is more what everyone always hopes to see. Cops breaking the law. We see it all the time, but it usually isn't caught on tape. This isn't that bad, but still pretty funny watching the cops not want to admit that they are, in fact, breaking the law.

A little out of the ordinary, but necessary

I know this is no type of celebrity blog, and believe me, I will try my hardest to keep it from ever becoming one....but I just thought I would share this information with the world. Well, ok the world minus the 3 million people that have already it on msn.com.

Are you ready?

16 year old Jamie Lynn Spears (you know, the little sister of the train wreck/used-to-be pop queen Britney Spears) is pregnant. Damn...she didn't even have that 2 year time period of being smoking hot like her sister did.

To make it worse, apparently her mom was writing a parenting book about raising celebrity children while staying "normal". Ouch. I don't really care all that much, but with all the recent news about her sister going crazy, this is pretty hilarious in my book.

For all of you guys who thought Britney was hot (don't lie - you know you wanted to bone her at SOME point), and for you pervs that were waiting on Jamie Lynn to be 18 before you could hit that....you just dodged a bullet. You seriously owe someone big time for keeping you out of that mess they call a family.

Here is the article about the cute little couple.

Batman - The Dark Knight

I know this is going to be taken off of YouTube by the end of the day, but I had to post this.

Christian Bale is an amazing actor and a badass. Heath Ledger is most likely going to rock as the Joker... Enjoy!

Signs that I am going corporate

In a recent Facebook email thread with my co-blog counterparts Shea and Lanette, I realized that somewhere, somehow I got on the corporate route and never got off. This really bothers me. I mean, I was that guy that showed up to college with long hair and a guitar. I even let it grow all the way until about mid April until the hair was well past my shoulders. Granted, I looked horrible, but I didn't exactly care much.

Why did I cut it? Well, other than the fact that girls telling me that I looked like Brandon Boyd didn't get me laid as much as I expected, I needed a job.

Sign #1. Selling out on your normal lifestyle to settle down and get a job. Ok, I wasn't exactly settling down, but this was just the start.

Next, I started finding myself less interested in my normal altruistic values and I even stopped reading such philosophers as Locke, Hobbs, Russeau, and Kant as I had in high school (I am and will always be a debate nerd).

Sign #2. Not reading things that will expand your thought process and teach you to think, because the MAN is telling you what to think.

Here is where it starts getting really bad.

Not only did I change my major from Chemistry to a pre-law dregree (and then added a double major), but I now even WORK for the man!

Sign #3. Working for the man only brings you down.

I now own and frequently use my Blackberry, wear suit pants/shirts/jackets to work every day, and am constantly looking for a great pea coat to wear over my suit to look "more professional." Ugh. I might throw up just thinking about this...

Sign #4, 5, and 6. Blackberry's, suits, and pea coats (unless worn by attractive women) are all major signs that one has gone corporate. They basically scream that you are no longer young, you don't care about the well-being of others and that you think money is more important than happiness and human life in general.

This last one is the worst: I don't go out on Thursdays anymore (most of the time) because I "Have to be productive at work tomorrow." I don't know why this changed or when it happened? I always used to go out when I had my old job!

Sign #7. If you don't go out and play regardless of what you have to do that/the next day, you have gone corporate.

Maybe I need to watch the movie "Across the Universe" again (go see it - it is amazing!) or maybe even "Steal This Movie!" to regain some kind of sense of the hippie-style long-hair wearing, reggae music listening, guitar playing person I was a few years ago. Well...maybe I can jam reggae on my guitar but trade out the long hair for the blackberry.

That doesn't sound corporate at all...

*If anyone knows of ways to not go corporate while at the same time having a heathly and weathly profession, please let me know. And if anyone says public interest law, you will receive hate mail...from my Blackberry.

Have you ever been so bored...

Have you ever been so bored while you are either at work or at home that you decide to start surfing the internet to pass the time? I am assuming that the unanimous answer to that is yes.

Now, have you ever spent your entire day surfing the internet? Welcome to my day at work today. Not that I am complaining, but I think I have oficially run out of things to look at online!

I started with the normal options: Facebook, Myspace, my blog. Then I went on to the daily sites that I check at some point in the day when I need a break: collegehumor.com, rollingstone.com, tmz.com, and funnyordie.com. Then I started getting desperate. I checked bestbuy.com to look for tvs. I checked circuitcity.com AND frys.com to price match the best buy tv's I previously looked at (and found that the tv I want is $600 less and will be buying it tomorrow!).

Then it got really bad. I found out if nude yoga really works. That Syria has blocked Facebook (a fate worse than death for me). My best friend Marcie and I exchanged Yiddish phrases back and forth via Facebook to celebrate Hanukkah.

It is getting bad, people. I don't see why, in these instances I can't just go home and start my weekend early!?!

Maybe I should try to clear my head and think of all the fun I will be having this weekend.....Denise's birthday tonight. Adam's birthday tomorrow. Buying a new tv tomorrow! I am really excited!

Well, I guess this post saved me about 2 minutes of surfing the internet....good thing I just found this....! Best hookups & breakups of 2007!!

Please save me....I can feel my brain shrinking as we speak.

Happy Hanukkah!

The Jew that lives inside of me just thought I would write a quick message reminding everyone that Hanukkah begins tonight at sundown! What do we get as our gift for the first night of this ever-so-glorious of holidays? As my friend and blogger Emily reminded me - the VICTORIA'S SECRET fashion show is on tv tonight!

Well, if that isn't a miracle I don't know what is. For all of you out there who, like me, love shiksa's...tune in. I am sure I will be fantasizing writing about it more tomorrow!

...Plus, the Spice Girls will be performing (read as: you get to make fun of all of them while secretly wanting to bone Posh Spice).
